Property Manager

Property Manager Location: Lagos, Portugal Start date: Immediate Contract length: Open ended Working hours: Full time, flexible hours. The role must include some weekend days. Salary: €1,200 to €1,600 per calendar month, depending on experience Food allowance: Provided, incorporated into the standard salary package Languages: Fluent English is essential. Basic Portuguese is useful.

Overview We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, highly organised and detail focused Property Manager to manage two large group rental properties in the Lagos area.

This is a hands on role suited to someone who takes pride in property presentation, guest experience, team management and problem solving. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping both properties running smoothly, ensuring guests receive an excellent level of service, and coordinating the people and contractors needed to maintain high standards.

The role requires flexibility, strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. Applicants must live within a 15 minute drive of Lagos, Portugal.

Key Responsibilities

• Property Management You will be responsible for the day to day management of two properties that host large group bookings.

Responsibilities include

• Overseeing property and grounds maintenance
• Ensuring all areas are well presented before and during guest stays
• Carrying out regular property checks
• Identifying and resolving maintenance issues quickly
• Managing stock taking and ordering
• Coordinating supplies, linen, guest items and operational stock
• Ensuring the properties are clean, organised and guest ready at all times
• Maintaining high standards across bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, outdoor areas and guest facilities

• Guest Experience and Customer Service You will be one of the main points of contact for guests during their stay.

Responsibilities include

• Carrying out face to face guest check ins
• Monitoring guest WhatsApp groups
• Responding quickly and professionally to guest questions
• Solving guest problems efficiently and calmly
• Providing standout service throughout the guest journey
• Helping create a warm, welcoming and well organised guest experience
• Communicating clearly with guests before, during and after their stay where required

• Team and Contractor Management You will be responsible for coordinating the teams and contractors who support the properties.

Responsibilities include

• Managing cleaning teams
• Coordinating the gardening team
• Booking and overseeing maintenance contractors
• Checking work has been completed to the required standard
• Communicating tasks clearly and following up where needed
• Helping build a reliable, efficient and positive working environment
• Managing small operational issues before they become bigger problems

Required Experience

The ideal candidate will have

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Property Manager
• Strong experience managing guest facing properties, hospitality properties or short term rental accommodation
• Excellent organisational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• A calm, practical and proactive approach to problem solving
• Good communication skills
• The ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends
• Fluent English
• Basic Portuguese is useful

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates who also have

• At least 2 years’ experience managing their own small team
• Experience managing cleaning, gardening or maintenance staff
• Experience working with group bookings, villas, retreats, hospitality properties or short term rentals
• Knowledge of the Lagos area
• Experience using WhatsApp, booking systems, task management tools or property management software
