About the role
You will become part of a large and highly specialized ophthalmology unit with over 260 professionals, covering outpatient care, emergency eye services, inpatient wards, and surgical units.
We are currently looking for specialists with:
Experience and a strong interest in medical retina
Experience and a strong interest in pediatric ophthalmology
Each area is supported by multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, optometrists, orthoptists, and physicians. The department promotes continuous learning, clinical development and innovation.
The hospital offers nationally designated care for pediatric glaucoma and cataract and has dedicated units for hereditary retinal diseases and electrophysiology in children. Opportunities for cross-specialty collaboration and research are available.
Requirements
Holds an EU-recognized specialist certification in ophthalmology
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in ophthalmology
Clinical experience and interest in medical retina and pediatric ophthalmology
Good communication skills in English and willingness to learn Swedish
A team-oriented mindset and motivation to contribute to patient care and clinical development
Experience or formal training in medical retina is highly valued
