Main Duties of a RMO (Resident Medical Officer).

• Working with consultants and nursing staff to provide pre and post operative care to patients.
• Inserting urethral catheters and iv cannulas.
• Keep the files on patient's progress up to date.
• Make sure the consultants are aware of any changes in their patient's condition.

Skills

• Excellent English
• iv cannulation
• blood taking(venepuncture)

• obtaining arterial blood gasses
• prescribing pre and post operative drugs
• reading ECG'S
• performing resuscitation

Profile

• Minimum 2 years post graduate experience or 6 months of surgery related experience in the last 2 years, but additional experience in emergency medicine, intensive care or anaesthetics is highly valued.
• Candidates with 12 months of intensive care experience can increase their earning potencial.

Earning potencial

• Salaries 1800£ to 2500£ per week

• Doctors would generally work 2 weeks per month.

• Minimum 6 months of contract
