Internal Control Consultant

In this project you’ll contact with the European stock market area. Despite its development center being located in Porto and all administrative support in Lisbon, you will be part of a multicultural team that is spread across several European cities.

We are looking for a Internal Control Consultant to join a project based in Porto (hybrid).

Requirements

• Proven experience in Internal Controls, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, Information Security, or External Audit.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and governance principles, including COSO and similar industry standards.
• Hands-on experience assessing and testing controls against recognized frameworks and regulations such as ISO 27001, ISO 22301, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, DORA, NIS2, or equivalent.
• Experience performing control testing, evidence reviews, walkthroughs, control assessments, and drafting testing reports with clear findings and recommendations.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across business and technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and operating effectiveness testing of key ICT controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Review and assess control evidence, conduct walkthroughs with first-line (LOD1) control owners, and validate the implementation and execution of key controls.
• Document testing activities, prepare workpapers, testing reports, findings, and recommendations, ensuring high-quality and auditable documentation.
• Support the follow-up of remediation actions, contributing to the continuous improvement and maturity of the Internal Control Framework.
• Prepare management reporting and governance committee materials while engaging with stakeholders across business and support functions to facilitate LOD2 testing activities.
