From Attittud Consulting we are seeking a data scientist to work in Lisboa for an international German Company which relies on powerfully insight data to power their systems and solutions.
The candidate must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. The candidate must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. The candidate must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
Objectives of this role.
Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development
Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Work as the lead data strategist, identifying and integrating new datasets that can be leveraged through our product capabilities and work closely with the Iberian team to strategize and execute the development of data products
Execute analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across various domains
Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for client business needs, and collect large structured and unstructured datasets and variables
Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
Analyze data for trends and patterns, and Interpret data with a clear objective in mind
Implement analytical models into production by collaborating with software developers
Communicate analytic solutions to the rest of the team and implement improvements as needed to operational systems
Requirements
We’re looking for someone with min 2 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models, has a University degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field, and is familiar with the following software/tools:
Coding knowledge and experience with several languages: PHP, JavaScript and Jquery mandatory.
Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques
Experience using statistical computer languages (Python, mySQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
Advanced pattern recognition and predictive modeling experience
Excel, Access professional user
Comfort working in a dynamic, research-oriented group with several ongoing concurrent projects
English and Portuguese
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in stats, applied math, or related discipline
Project management experience
Professional certifications
